21 Days of Prayer for Sons {sign up}

by Brooke McGlothlin on March 17, 2011

21 Days of Prayer for Sons is a prayer challenge for mothers of boys based on the eBook Warrior Prayers: Praying the Word for Boys in the Areas They Need it Most.

Beginning April 1, 2011 and ending April 29, 2011, 21 Days of Prayer for Sons will be held on weekdays here at Warrior Prayers! Every weekday, for 21 days, we will blog about specific pieces of your son’s life, taken from the 21 areas where boys need prayer the most in the Warrior Prayers eBook. For example:

The first day we will talk about the importance of teaching our sons obedience and pray the prayers for obedience over them all day long. Each topic of prayer lists ten specific prayers, crafted from scripture, that help you address your son’s heart. So you’ll be committing to pray for your sons TEN times a day for the next 21 days, in 21 different areas.

Simple!

Each Friday I will provide bloggers with an opportunity to link-up posts about how God is moving through the 21 Days of Prayer for Sons experience. But anyone, bloggers and non-bloggers alike can participate and share how God is working in their family by leaving comments throughout the challenge.

Here’s how to participate:

  1. Purchase your own copy of Warrior Prayers: Praying the Word for Boys in the Areas They Need it Most (just $5.97)
  2. I recommend getting your copy of the eBook bound or placing it in a 3-ring binder so that you can easily flip from page to page and leave your book open all day to the topics you’re currently praying.
  3. Commit to praying for your sons ten times a day for 21 days straight. (Note: this IS a commitment. If you feel led to participate, pray and ask the Lord to give you the strength, courage and endurance needed for the length of the challenge).
  4. Show up at www.brookemcglothlin.com/warriorprayers every weekday between April 1 and April 29 for encouragement and commit to leaving encouragement for the other boy moms participating.

THAT’S IT! Soooooo easy! What are you waiting for? Grab your copy of the Warrior Prayers eBook now, sign up below, and get ready to spend some time on your knees! Let’s pray in expectation that our God, Who loves our sons so much more than we do, wants to do good things for us, and for them, during this time.

Hi -
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for doing this. I am a mom of three precious boys (5,3.3, and 4.5 months). I love my boys and I want to be a better mom for them. I really stuggle with my temper and frustration. A lot has happened in the past 3 yrs – my husband who is self employed, business suddenly slowed down A LOT – we really felt what happened with the economy, our first and only daughter passed away, we couldnt afford our home, and the list goes on…. BY GOD’s Grace we are alive and well and keep pushing through, but I know subconciously these and many other things rob my peace… I really dont know why I am sharing all of this… I guess I need to just get it out…. SO REALLY I just wanted to say thank you for this challenge!! I am excited… I really want God to change these things about me and show me the beautiful sons that He has given me….
Thanks for reading… In CHrist

Hello! I can’t wait to get started. I don’t have a blog but maybe this will inspire me to start one. I have two boys ages 13 and 8, as well as two girls, 15 and 6. I pray that during this time my boys will be transformed and me too! :)

That’s my prayer for this challenge too Lori. Praying that the mighty God we serve will reach down and change our hearts and move in our homes.

I just gave birth to my first child on Wednesday, March 16th – this little son has already commanded such love and passion from my heart that I never imagined possible. I found the Warrior Prayers book online a few weeks before heading to the hospital and immediately purchased it – knowing that I want to cover my little one’s life and heart with prayer from the very start. While I don’t blog yet, I have a feeling that I very soon will be starting down that road and am asking God if this 21-day commitment might be my kick-off to that venture. Either way, I am anxiously awaiting Friday and cannot wait to see what God is going to do in and through my little one’s life.

I loVe this site.! I am happy to have a place to go to where there are other Warrior Moms of Boyz to lay my burdens down, lift them up and pray them through tough times, great times, just times! They are His Kings entrusted to us. We must war for them, war with them and teach them to understand. God spoke a word to me today and He said, “Read my word and ‘do’ what it says” How simple is that? I am on a journey, because as I follow Him, my boys will follow me. It’s abour obedience and righteousness to the Father. Our Heavenly Father awaits us ladies. As we go to His Throne of Grace, to receive his grace and mercy, His peace, His healing, His transformation, His love and His friendship. To God Be The Glory!!!!!

Brooke,

I had no idea you were so famous!! ;) This is really cool. I bought the book, ‘Praying the Scriptures for your Teenagers’ by Jodie Berndt a month or two ago, and have seen a change in my kid’s attitude and the climate around the house. Prayer is awesome!! I’m looking forward to going even deeper into the battle!

Hello there! I clicked on this link from We Are THAT Family’s blog (I’m a blog stalker (o;) I have one son, age 10, who is just beginning to show typical signs of ‘adolescent attitude’ and some days I get so exasperated and I usually end up yelling. He loves Jesus and has such a sweet spirit, so I know there is a good foundation. I just want to commit to taking things a step further in regards to praying over him on a regular basis. I can’t wait to see what God does in him and our family!

Lately I’ve been reading Bringing Up Boys. As I’ve been doing that, I’ve had the 21-day challenge in the back of my mind, always in my prayers. God has laid it on my heart that my boys need my prayers, and I’m especially burdened for my oldest. It’s hard to tell when he’s having a serious conversation, and while we’ve talked about God and Jssus and what it means to be a Christian and accept Jesus as your Savior, I’m not deep-down sure that’s a decision he’s made. I want more than anything to know Who holds my boys’ future, and I’m ready to pray hard and pray often. I want to see them grow up to be men of faith.

Thanks so much for writing this book and for giving me a chance to win it! I’ve only had it for a couple of days and already it has been such a blessing to me!
I’ve printed one out for me and showed it to my hubby and he liked it so much he asked if I would print him out his own too! I’m hoping to get them bound this weekend. (if it’s not to pricey)

I’m so excited to find this out! As a mother of one son and one daughter, I am always trying to find ways to pray for them and encourage them in their walk with Christ. I am also excited to find out about the M.O.B. resource. My son is getting ready to enter middle school, so I need all the resources I can get to help us help him to make the adjustment.

This is an exciting challenge! I found out about it last month and sent the info along to many of my facebook friends who are also blessed with sons! Several of them are reading along and praying too! And I LOVE the idea someone posted about praying this for our future son-in-laws, as I’ll have three one day! To God be the GLORY!

I am a mom to two boys, ages ten and seven. Our ten year old has been missing lots of school due to undiagnosed abdominal cramps since mid-January and I know I need to spend more time on my knees for both of my boys. Thank you for this ebook/challenge and thanks to the newest mom I know, Alle for inviting me! I shared one of my blogs above. I’ll be sharing on facebook too, but I keep my settings friends only.

I’m in! I have 3 boys under 5 years old. They are each precious and unique. I find it difficult at times to know how to “train up” such strong and individual personalities. The one thing I do know that each of them need is my prayers and God’s love. Thank you for encouraging all of us to pray more and pray specifically.

As a mother of 2 married boys, age 29 & 32 – I have realized the fact that prayer is something you continue to do no matter the age of your child. I’ve seen God’s answers through the years and I’m excited to continue to use this website to pray for them and to include my 2 grandsons- a 15 month and a newborn as well. New mom’s just remember we serve a faithful God – continue to pray – take those tough days 1 at a time – God will use them – he’s still at work and He sees you through. He’s worked in ways – at times not the way I desired- but His plan was much more than I could have imagined.

I don’t blog, but linked up on facebook. Thanks, Cinda for giving me the heads up (via Divine Digital forum) about this challenge. So much better and more profitable than a challenge to scrap a page a day or some other such challenge! My “boy” just had his golden birthday…he turned 30 on the 30th of March. He is not living in obedients to God so the first day’s challenge really brought tears to my eyes. I will be praying for him! Also praying for my 3 grandsons ages 9, 3 and yet to be born (making his appearance 4/28!). Thanks so much for this godly challenge. Next month we need to pray for our daughters!
