saying good-bye {kind of}

by Brooke McGlothlin on February 2, 2012

Dear Friends,

I’m excited to share some changes coming our way in the next week for the Warrior Prayers community! As you know, Warrior Prayers was birthed out of the MOB Society community (FOR moms or boys, BY moms of boys). Enthusiasm for the Warrior Prayers blog posts continued to grow there, so in 2011 the following things happened.

Warrior Prayers: Praying the Word for Boys in the Areas They Need it Most

  • I opened a Facebook page just for Warrior Prayers (dude! we’re over 4, 300 friends there! THANK YOU!)
  • Erin, of Design By Insight, created this blog home for us.
  • On Valentine’s Day 2011, I released the first edition of the Warrior Prayers: Praying the Word for Boys in the Areas They Need it Most eBook. Since then, two revisions have been released.
  • Thousands of boy moms, from over SEVEN different countries have taken the 21 Days of Prayer for Sons challenge!
  • I announced that a brand new edition of Warrior Prayers (with lots of valuable content) will be released this Spring!

And now, for the most recent move in the life of Warrior Prayers:

On February 6, 2012, Warrior Prayers will move back to its original home at the MOB Society!

I couldn’t be more excited about this change friends. It’s the right move in the life of this amazing community. As you know, the MOB Society is THE premier site on the web for all things boy mom. It just makes sense to have Warrior Prayers be where all of the boy moms are.

So this little space will be moving to the MOB Society. If you don’t already, would you take a moment to make sure you’re subscribed there so we don’t lose touch? When you subscribe by email, you’ll get a free copy of my latest eBook (co-authored with Stacey Thacker of the MOD Squad), Hope for the Weary Mom: Where God Meets You in Your Mess. Don’t miss it.

Please note:

  • The main web addresses of this site will be transferred to the MOB Society, and you won’t ever know the difference! ( and will continue to work just fine).
  • I am NOT closing down the Warrior Prayers Facebook page. You can continue to be encouraged in praying for your sons there each weekday!
  • The next 21 Days of Prayer for Sons challenge will be held at the MOB Society this Spring! Again, make sure you’re subscribed there!
  • Come hang out at the MOB Society as we reach the hearts of boys for the Gospel & prepare a generation of men to love the Lord. Don’t miss our big re-launch the week of February 6th. There will be TONS of amazing prizes you’ll love!

Above all, THANK YOU for continuing to make the Warrior Prayers community one of the best ones on the web. You’re amazing and I’m so thankful to call you friends.

Serving Together,

Hope for the Weary Mom

by Brooke McGlothlin on November 5, 2011

Weary mom? Tired mom? Overwhelmed mom? Waving the white flag mom?

The MOB Society (for mothers of boys) and the MOD Squad (for mothers of girls) are teaming up to bring you a brand new series called Hope for the Weary Mom.

It starts today! Head over to the MOD Squad blog to read Stacey’s first post. Then next Saturday, come join me at the MOB Society with a cuppa joe in hand as we explore some of my thoughts on the subject. We’ll go back and forth between the two blogs on Saturdays this whole month (and maybe next!)

Prayer Ministry at Relevant

by Brooke McGlothlin on October 27, 2011

When emotions run high…

When the Lord presses in deep…

When joy spills over…

When the heart comes unraveled…

And kingdoms turn upside down…

A girl needs prayer.

At this year’s Relevant Conference, an entire room will be devoted to serving you in prayer. Brought to you by The Seed Company, the prayer room will be set up right beside the Incourage lounge, and will be open the entire duration of the conference just for you. In-between sessions there will be representatives from The Seed Company ready to stand in the gap for you, but you can also come in expecting a quiet, worshipful experience any time you want to talk to your Father.

Come alone and pray quietly.

Come together and pray in groups.

Just come.

Find a beautiful DaySpring journal in the prayer room (with your name on it) for other Relevant attendees & speakers to write notes of encouragement, prayers, etc for you. At the end of the conference, you can come back to the prayer room to pick up your journal and read all of the prayers offered up on your behalf and all of the thoughtful encouragement shared by your friends. If you need help knowing what to write or how to pray, the Seed Company has provided some verses (located directly above the journal table) for you to stick in the journal.

Like this one I’ve started for sweet Sarah Mae…

Just for you…

Prayer Cards

The Seed Company has created beautiful prayer cards located on the back table in the prayer room. Pick one up, share a prayer request and drop it in the glass bowl toward the front of the room. Seed Company representatives will be praying for your requests the whole weekend.

A Meet-up in the Prayer Room

Friday morning, the prayer room will host the Warrior Prayers prayer gathering. If you have a son or grandson, and would like to pray for him with a group of like-minded moms, plan to join us from 7-8 AM in the morning.

One-on-One Prayer

And when the conference is done, last keynote finished, and your burden needs lifting, come find a team of women and men in the prayer room waiting to join you in prayer.

A Place to Breathe

We’ve worked hard behind the scenes to bring you this special room friends. And we’re praying even now…that the Lord of Heaven would prepare your hearts, and bring blessing to you through prayer.

help for raising boys

by Brooke McGlothlin on October 14, 2011

I watch their little faces as we prepare for bedtime prayers. I’m overwhelmed with love for them, overwhelmed with parenting them, these little boys who have stolen my heart and rocked my world. As I write this, my sons are six and four. Already I find myself wondering where the time has gone. I’m running as fast as I can to keep up with every step they take, tucking each moment away in my memory for safekeeping.

I asked God to give me boys. Even before I was married I knew I wanted boys–to raise men who would be different, respecters of women, lovers of God–to teach little men to work with their hands, take com- mitments seriously and protect the least of these. Warriors, protectors, worshippers, peacemakers and friends–these are the dreams I have for my little ones.

Fast forward twelve years or so, and the present-day circus that is my life often finds me asking this question:
