Fresh Year, Fresh Start - Day 2

If you're new to A Life in Need of Change, you may want to subscribe. You're joining me in the middle of a series for the new year entitled "Fresh Year, Fresh Start." Several of my best bloggy friends and I are joining forces to bring you practical theology in the areas where it matters most; relationships to God, our husbands and our children.

For Day Two of Fresh Year, Fresh Start hop on over to my friend Teri Lynne's blog. She's talking to us today about the WORD and where to start reading the Bible.

In her post, Teri Lynne makes the following statement:

"'How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your Word.' ~ Psalm 119:9 NIV

This verse gives me encouragement that, though I may not always WANT to study Scripture, I always NEED to dig into the truths of God's Word in order to keep myself in right relationship with Him."

How true.

Don't we often get so busy, have so many things to check off our "to do" list that we feel we don't need to spend time with God every day?

Or maybe you, like me, have had seasons of exponential growth in the Lord that you rest in and abide in...DEPEND ON...during the seasons of difficulty.

I believe it's God's kindness to us to give us those seasons of plenty so that we're prepared for the seasons of difficulty that may lie ahead.

But sometimes we hang on so tightly to what has been in the past that we forget, or neglect, to pursue a growing relationship with the Lord.

Then we stagnate. Our faith grows cold. What once was isn't enough to sustain us forever.

If you're in a place of stagnation I encourage you to start fresh today. Join us for Fresh Year, Fresh Start. And commit anew today to rekindle an intimate, growing, life-giving relationship with the Lord. Be sure to check out Teri Lynne's practical help on where to start reading the Bible.

And remember to start preparing your plans to have a fresh year, fresh start to link up on Kristi's blog each Friday for your chance to win a FRESH BLOG MAKEOVER by Jo-Lynne (@dcrmom) of DCR Design

So where are you going to start? What's your plan for rekindling your relationship with the Lord?
